The Euromir was "Europa Park's" first world class rollercoaster. It is a special rollercoaster. Not to compare with any other coaster known today, it combines the classic wild mouse with the modern train-based rollercoaster style. The Euromir features spinning cars. They turn during the slower parts of the coastertrack and then stop turning for providing a save ride during the drops and curves. The coaster looks special, maybe not so wild, but it is a wild rollercoaster, thats for sure...

It took a long time until "Europa Park" recieved a really special rollercoaster, but with the release of "Euromir" "Europa Park" offered a rollercoaster-attraction that is still unique in the world, even today.
And since it's latest addition, the B&M Speedcoaster "Silver Star", "Europa Park" has become already a little coaster-mekka...

leaving and entering the first drop

unique concept of a rollercoaster

The "Euromir" is of course a must ride for coasterfreaks. The Euromir is a steel-coaster that features a layout with four different trackparts. It has not included any loopings or other inversions, but there is so much on this coaster, that it really does not need something like that...

The first part is the lift hill... But in fact it is not a typical lift hill. As you can see on the photos the whole coaster is themed with those mirror-glassed buildings. After the train has left the station it get's inside the largest of those tubes and is transported up to the highest point. Interresting is that inside the tube is another tube that is rotating. Here the train catches the rotating tube and gets transported upwards. The track is layed around the turning tube in a climbing spiral going up to the top. The almost famous euromir technosound is coming from the speakers and creating an interresting atmosphere. Reaching the top, the train comes to a door, that opens and then you get outside and find yourself 28 meters above the ground.

Here starts the second part of the coaster. The train increases speed. Then it's circling around the tops of all those glassed tubes in a wildmouse styled track layout. The train gets faster and faster, but the cars are still spinning. Finally it reaches the big (first) drop. Here the cars stop spinning and get locked just short before the drop. Then comes the third part. This is the large firstdrop section. Here the train drops down all the 28 meters and reaches a top speed of 80 kilometers per hour. Half of the passengers drive forwards and the other half drive backwards.
some nice portrait shots of the action...

Then the train gets back on a hill and here the cars start spinning again just to found themselves get locked a little later. And then you can say the fourth and most intense part of the ride begins.

Maybe the drop looked wilder, but it is easy to ride, if it is compared with the thight helixes and curved direction changes that appear here later. The train is still very fast and you experience a lot of lateral g's. Also you gonna be photographed. Be in the front row and ride it foreward is a great experience... But if you have to ride this part backwards... You should better not try to turn your head here... It's rough and your head will tell you later... ouch :-)
