You want one of the world's wildest? Then catch a seat on Expedtition Ge Force. In the year 2001, Holiday Park at Hassloch in Germany opened their new major attraction "Expedition GeForce".

A Megacoaster for Europe

When Intamin introduced their new "Megacoaster" rideconcept with "Superman - Ride of steel" and later with the worldrecord breaking "Millenium Force", european eyes were immediatly focused to Cedar Point's new monster attraction. You could see reports on television almost every week about new rollercoasters and especially about Millenium Force. A lot you could learn about Werner Stengel, the (now) famous engineer, that was responsible (beside a lot of other rollercoasters) for the design of Millenium Force.

At this time it was unthinkable, that (at least some) enthusiast's eyes would later turn their view into the opposite direction and focuse a place in the woods of western Germany. There an almost unknown amusement park (the holiday park) was building europe's first Megacoaster. Because of the budget, the idea was that the coaster would be smaller than Millenium Force or SROS, but compared to these designs, it would be much wilder. The idea was to create wild g-forces with this coaster, so the riders would be treated with an intensity, like almost never felt before. And you know what... This coaster simply is one of the worlds wildest.

the lifthill

Of course some "hardcore" coaster fanatics would say, that it is still possible to create an even more intense coaster, but believe me there isn't much space anymore left and otherwise it would be beyond the today's possibilities.

So its clear what is to expect from this ride. The pure fascination and realisation of an ultimate wild steel rollercoaster... And maybe some unfor-getable pain in your back too... (ouch!).

Ok, now lets have a closer look. The orange colored monster features some astonishing facts, that have to be named here too...

wild turn

Beside the fact, that it is Europes first Intamin Megacoaster design (there is only Goliath at SF Holland, that is also an Intamin Megacoaster) and beside the fact, that the coaster is rated to be one of the worlds wildest non-inversion coasters, it features a height of 62 meters, a maximum speed of 120 km/h and one of the most unbelievable first drops on such a rollercoaster. The first drop twists and features a drop-angle of 82°.

The ride is really intense and breathtaking. The first drop reminds me sometimes to the Big One at Blackpool, but Expedition GeForce`s first drop is much steeper, also shorter and it feels different.

heading back into the woods

On the first drop its more that you think, that the whole coastertrain is falling down and not driving anymore. But then the train heads back upwards and takes you on a journey over one of the fastest and tightest coastertrack that you can imagine. The train heads through the woods like a fast plane that tries to avoid crashing into the ground.

High curves, thight direction changes and a lot of ups and downs but also several crossings of the track and a beautiful built curve around a small lake, are some brilliant parts of this rollercoaster. You can feel the intensity in all your bones.

getting your arms up is not always easy

Its a lot of times where you think, that you will get pulled out of the train, but the lapbar manages that this is not happening... Then finally you hit the brakes, where the train is stopped and guided back into the station. Look at the people's faces and you know that it was fun for them and that they want to go back for another ride...
