The music comes powerful with a deep sound out of the ground... I have entered the "forbidden valley" and I'm heading forward... There is a small electronic table built over the walkway that is telling me "nemesis is now open"... And soon you hear the people cry... The ambiance and the sight are unbelievable fascinating, and the music surrounds in a powerful way and takes you beyond the rest of Alton Towers. Nemesis is definitely the main attraction, at this beautiful amusement park.

B&M legends: barrel roll and vertical loop

the perfect attraction

It seems to be the perfect attraction. A very special sci-fi, orchestral music surrounds in a powerful way the whole attraction. It is a B&M inverted looping coaster. (Actually Europe's first!) Its short but, very effectual. The coaster train plunges deep into the ground. In fact the rollercoaster symbolises a monster, a beast, that has been raised from underground while creating and building Alton Towers. And it is a monster! Many of the coaster enthusiasts call nemesis to be one of the world’s best roller coasters. I'm sure that there won't be another coaster in the world with such a short track, but such an amazing thrill and fascination.

the ride and the facts

It is a very wild rollercoaster. In good B&M style the coaster is very smooth and concentrates not on shaking the passengers, but on taking them over (under) one of the tightest inverted coaster track, you can imagine. Just a few meters above the ground, it plunges with an enormous speed unbelievable near to the ground, that you really fear to get pushed or cracked your legs or arms. It takes you through four inversions, including a very beautiful vertical looping. It features very tight curves and a helix that gives you such an enormous acceleration, that you will lose your orientation. Nemesis is Alton Towers number "1" beast forever. That’s for sure. This coaster is and will be a legend.
