I just can say: Wonderful! I
didn't think that it would be that great! But it is! I'm defenitly
not a fan of water-rides, but this marvelous attraction makes
it the ultimate fun! I heard a lot about it, before the day
of my new park-visit to Europa Park came. There were a lot
of commercials on TV, Radio and Newspapers at that moment,
all telling how special the new ride at Europa Park would
be. But the best thing on this... This ride IS great!
It is a milestone in the history of Europa Park. I could take
two rides on it and the second one was as good as the first
one. The wonderful thing on that coaster is, that people are
having fun on it, like I haven't seen it for years! Look at
the expressions on their faces and you will see what I'm talking
about... Or better, if you are near this region, just go and
have your own ride on it, its truly worth!

the ride concept

The "Poseidon" combines very
much different elements to an outstanding perfect attraction.
It is a boat ride and a log flume, but most of all a coaster!
The great thing on it, is the combination of "log-flume" and
"roller- coaster" to the "waterrollercoaster".
Further it features a very high quality greek themeing. In
fact, the greek section was built, with the intention to have
the "Poseidon" as the main attraction, that surrounds all
of that section. Interresting fact: The cars, which are actually
boats with wheels, are completley disconnected from the coaster
track while they are swimming in the water part of the attraction.
It is driven only by the flowing water, that is pumped through
the waterchannel. From there it is redirected in the coastertrack
with a special guidance section. It has two lifthills and
three large drops. Two of them are taking you down into the
water like a log-flume, but with a much higher speed and pressure.

about the ride
|
|
Like already told before, the
ride is absolute highest class fun! It features three large
drops. The first drop is a great normal coasterlike drop with
an 180° direction change. After that, the cars get back up
into the second drop. This one goes underground, under the
troyan horse and comes back up into a wild, thight curve and
with lots of speed you plunge into the water for the first
time.
Here it is disconnected from the coaster track and driven
like a normal boat ride. Then it comes to the second lifthill.
On top it heads for the third, the last drop. This one is
a straight drop, that goes also underground. With lots of
speed you come back up into a small "bunny hop". Here you
get great air-time and then it plunges into the water for
the second time. The water is pushed away with an enormous
force and if the other visitors don't watch out, they get
wet like in a shower... I told you... The ultimate fun!
