CCI's ultimate masterpiece

1997 CCI built a legend! This breathtaking impressive rollercoaster is one of the very rare wooden rollercoasters of Europe. It is a dream to ride... If you have ever been on a wooden rollercoaster, you know what I'm talking about. This coaster itself is it worth to visit Parc Asterix, when you're nearby. It is built by Custom Coasters International. They really made a masterpiece and it takes a lot of travelling to find a better rollercoaster for a ride. And most surely you won't find a better one... Tonnerre de Zeus is rated to be one of the world's best wooden coasters... And I totally agree! This ride is not possible to describe in words.

It's every coaster enthusiast's dream come alive. Not the highest, not the fastest, not the steepest, not the roughest... But probably just the best... My decision is made so far. I've been on Balder, Stampida, Sierra Tonante, Grand National, Big Dipper, Wild Wild West (Madrid)... Tonnerre de Zeus is far away from them... Like I already wrote, CCI built a legend!

design and theme

With Zeus standind in front of the entrance the coaster is styled in greek theme. The woodie is meant to be Zeus' thunder, rushing over the wooden track like no other coaster does. The track layout is almost simple, but perfectly there where it get's the most out of such a coaster... Rushing fast and wild like an arrow until the final brake, this coaster takes you on a ride beyond words that can describe it... Go there and feel it yourself.

maybe the world's best coaster?

Some people call it the world's best rollercoaster. And they are defenitly close, maybe right! It is loud, it is fast, but the best thing... It is soo large and you feel like the ride is not gonna come to an end... Surprising sharp turns and the most of airtime that you can imagine. All this makes it really unique and outstanding. If you have never been on a wooden rollercoaster, you can not imagine how the ride is. Anyway a ride on a wooden rollercoaster is a completely different way of an experience, than a steel coaster. Parc Asterix gives the visitors with "la tonnerre de Zeus" the experience all the other amusement parks around Paris are not offering. The coaster is the fascination, like it has to be... A true, maybe THE true thrill ride !
